GRAFAIR is bolstering its amphibious operation!
GRAFAIR have just bought Viamare Sjöflyg's amphibious aircraft with registration SE-KTH. As Viamare Sjöflyg sold their aircraft to us, they effectively ceased their current operations. The aircraft in question is a Cessna 208 Caravan Amphibian with room for 9 passengers; it is the only one of its type in Sweden. The cruising speed is 300 km per hour. The aircraft range of 1600 km makes it even possible to fly Stockholm-Paris non-stop. "From pier to pier, or from pier to the closest airport, there is absolutely nothing that beats a Caravan in terms of speed and performance. The Caravan is twice as fast as a business jet on flight legs like these" says Mr Bengt Grafström, President of GRAFAIR. We can now offer flight arrangements for larger groups of passengers, with the addition of the Caravan. We are now able to fly up to 14 passengers at the same time, with all our amphibious aircrafts. "It takes a max of 30 seconds as the taxi stops at our FBO, walking through the terminal and then embarking the aircraft for further travel around the world" says Bengt. "We have a private parking lot for those of our passengers who choose to travel with their own cars" he continues. Cessna 208 Caravan is a single engine turbo prop aircraft that saw the light for the first time in 1982. The aircraft type started to fly commercially just two years later. Today, there is more than 1500 Caravans around the globe. This aircraft type is deemed a true "reliable work horse" and is used extensively both as a passenger aircraft and to transport goods by companies like Fedex. "It is an amazing experience to fly above the beautiful Swedish archipelago. An experience we gladly share with others. We really look forward to the coming season". Bengt, who is born on the island of Sandhamn and both knows and loves the archipelago, continues: "I have been flying amphibious aircrafts for nearly 40 years now. Its fantastic to fly over the islands and islets, you never grow tired of it!". GRAFAIR have strengthened its Air Ambulance Operation
In October 2009 GRAFAIR bought another Air Ambulance aircraft to strengthen its Air Ambulance Operation. The aircraft in question is a Cessna 550 Citation II Jet with aircraft registration SE-RIM. We now therefore have the capacity to fly two separate air ambulance missions at the same time. The cabin layout and equipment of our aircrafts makes advanced on-board medical care and treatment possible. Our new air ambulance aircraft have, as our other three Citation jets, space for two patient stretchers and an additional 4 seats for passengers and medical staff. Our latest addition, to our fleet of aircrafts, is equipped with a wide cargo door. This door makes loading- and unloading patients and medical equipment a breeze, and makes it even possible to load larger incubator machines. We received a lot of positive feedback regarding our 24/7 availability and readiness during the past year of operation. Now, with the addition of SE-RIM, our capacity to take on air ambulance missions, have been greatly increased. Our goal is to provide the best possible air ambulance flying service to our clients. With SE-RIM we know that we have taken yet another step in the right direction. Press Communication - 22 May 2009 ![]() Grafair Jet Center is again ranked as the 3:rd best international FBO in Aviation International News (AIN).
